It shouldn’t be surprising to anyone that all (as in 100%) of images in a magazine are photo-shopped. If that’s the case, then why do young people, especially girls and women, become sad or depressed as to “why can’t I look like that”? According to News Week Magazine and Diet.com, “retouching of photos has become so main stream, not only is it expected, but demanded my publicists. Magazine editors however don’t feel that they are deceiving the readers because they assume that the readers know that the images have been altered one way or another.” Everyone knows that magazine photos are retouched, right? That answer is a no. Not everyone knows or believes that all beauty ads are photo-shopped. My name is Ange Smith and this is my photography, which has been a hobby of mine since May 2010. My photography is all about being real. 100% of photos in a magazine are photo-shopped, whereas 100% of mine are not. I know how to take good photos, not make them. I do appreciate graphic design as an art but photo manipulation is like lying to me. There's a major difference between creating a piece of artwork on Photoshop and photo-shopping the photo itself to make it seem better. I don't like the idea of retouching an image such as magazine ads because it was proven that it is absolutely impossible for the human body to look like that... naturally. The only way a person can look the way people do in beauty ads are multiple visits to the plastic surgeon. I’m proud of myself and of my work that I don’t make excellent photos—I take them. Thank you Emily for being a wonderful model and friend :) Equipment used: Nikon D3100 Neewer LCD Ring Flash Ange Smith Photography's Official Website: www.wix.com/angesmithga/asp Like ASP on Facebook: www.facebook.com/pages/Ange-Smith-Photography/26904990644...
